Best Price Guarantee on Jumia Explained

Jumia is now offering its customers a 'best price' guarantee. This means that if you do a price comparison on various products from several online/offline retailers, you will discover that Jumia is selling those products at the best price: if not, they will pay the difference. However, note that this guarantee applies to selected products only. In fact, only products with a 'best price guarantee badge' are eligible for the guarantee or claim. If after comparing the price of a product you discover a cheaper retailer, Jumia will refund you the difference.

How does it work?

The first thing is to identify the comparable products that are tagged with the 'best price guarantee' tag on Jumia. Then, search online and do your own comparison at other retailers to see whether you will get a cheaper price for the same product. If you find a cheaper offer, Jumia will cater to the difference. Therefore, if you find a cheaper product elsewhere, simply visit the Jumia website and fill in a claim form. In this form, you will enter your name, a link of the best price on the Jumia product as well as the actual price. In addition, you will be required to attach a receipt of the cheaper item. Your email address and phone number will also be filled in the form. Then, you can submit your claim.

Once your claim form has been verified and confirmed by the Jumia team, you will receive the cash difference within 24 hours through MPESA. This is indeed a step in the right direction to show shoppers who has the best prices in the digital market. However, keep in mind that there are terms and conditions that apply to this best price guarantee by Jumia. Reading the fine text is critical and below are some terms and conditions.

- The claim must be done within 7 days of purchase from an official retailer; the customer will have to prove that they indeed bought the cheaper product this way.

- The price, date and store name of the cheaper item must be provided in the receipt attachment.

- Per product, there can only be one claim and customers cannot make more than 10 claims.

- Some of the official online and offline retailers that are officially recognized by Jumia include Kilimall, Masoko, Naivas, Nakumatt, Tuskys, Carrefour and Safaricom.

- Weekends are excluded

Therefore, as a shopper at Jumia, take time to compare prices and see whether you are getting the best price possible. You really do not have to spend more than necessary while buying anything online.
